We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and experience in programming CNC machines to produce high-quality components. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

  • Develop and optimize CNC programs for both Lathe and Milling machining operations, ensuring high accuracy and efficiency.
  • Must have 3+ years of Mastercam 19 or up
  • Set up and operate CNC machines, including lathes and milling machining equipment.
  • Conduct inspections using coordinate measuring machines, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring tools to ensure product quality.
  • Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles in programming and inspection tasks.
  • Maintain tooling inventory and ensure all tools are calibrated and in good working condition.
  • Fabricate components as needed while adhering to safety standards and best practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CNC Programmer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for designing parts and tooling.
  • Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus.
  • Experience with tooling setup, maintenance, and optimization.
  • Knowledge of coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for quality control purposes.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and bore gauges effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

Axis Technologies is now accepting new applicants for CNC Lathe Programmers for the 1st shift. We are a well-established machine shop looking to fill set-up position in our Lathe department. We manufacture high quality, close tolerance parts for a wide range of industries.

Compensation is based on your experience/abilities.

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES: Efficiently set-up, operate and program CNC lathe machines in a fast-paced manufacturing shop environment to meet the customer needs. Completion of documentation (job travelers, operator check sheets, inspection reports, etc.).

Ensure proper inspection of first piece and in-processes inspection are performed and made adjustments as required.

Assist other employees when needed to achieve company manufacturing goals.

Must be able to work with minimal supervision but know when to ask for assistance.

Good communication skills and working as a team are a must.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Must be able to read and understand prints
  • Must be able to utilize various measuring tools
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a setup/programmer position with a CNC lathe machine
  • Use Mastercam software

Ideal candidate may have previously worked as CNC Machinist, CNC Programmer.
